CMT Ramps Up for World Thermoforming Tour

Tradeshow_mashup.jpg

Even though September is the last month of Q3, it often feels like the beginning of Q4. Perhaps this due to the end of summer, people returning to work and children returning to school. Or perhaps it’s because the tradeshow calendar is jam-packed with events, fairs and conferences. We’re making preparations for multiple events on 3 continents over the next few months.

1. AMI Thin Wall Packaging Conference Asia, Singapore – September 20-21

The AMI Thin Wall Packaging Conferences (TWP) have become the go-to event for thin gauge thermoforming. Roughly 50% of the content addresses thermoforming and extrusion, with the balance covering injection molding. Topics such as T-IML, barrier films, lightweighting, product design and decoration technologies are usually discussed. With successful events in Cologne, Germany and Chicago, IL, the AMI team is now branching out to South East Asia, a dynamic and growing region of the world for plastics packaging. CMT will be exhibiting at this inaugural event. You can view the schedule here.

2. SPE Thermoforming Conference, Schaumburg, IL – September 26-28 (Booths 306/308)

The Thermoforming Division of SPE is hosting its 25th annual conference this year. With roughly 800 attendees, this is the premier event for thermoforming in North America. The full conference schedule is now available along with abstracts for all speakers. On the thin gauge side, we’re looking forward to hearing from Dart Container on the topic of statistical process improvement. On the heavy gauge side, Brentwood Industries will be discussing a continuous improvement initiative that features syntactic foam. The results are impressive. Our newest HYTAC material, LPXT, will be the focal point for our interactions with the heavy gauge industry this year. LPXT is impregnated with PTFE to provide a smooth, no-stick and mark-off free surface.  It is uniquely formulated to provide excellent results with TPO and capped-layer materials. A crack-arresting additive ensures product life for cycle after cycle and year after year performance. In addition, CMT will be unveiling a brand new booth design, so stop by and let us know what you think.

3. CAMX, Anaheim, CA – September 26-28 (Booth #N91)

CAMX has established itself as North America’s event that connects and advances the world’s composites and advanced materials communities – the go-to marketplace for products, solutions, networking and advanced industry thinking. This year, our sister company, Engineered Syntactic Solutions (ESS) will be introducing a brand new composite syntactic toolboard. After performing an in-depth market study, ESS has identified a market need for toolboard that can maintain dimensional stability (low CTE) at higher temperatures while offering exceptional machining characteristics. The new products, 2 epoxy-based boards and 1 thermoplastic-based board, are designed for moldmakers serving the aerospace, marine, energy and automotive sectors. Tough and durable, the new boards can be used for constructing master models, fixturing and other heat-resistant applications. They can also be used for composite fabrication in pre-preg and autoclave cure, wet lay-up, vacuum infusion and other composite processes. Click here for more information about the event.

4. K 2016, Dusseldorf, Germany – October 19-26 (Hall 3, Stand G83)

250,000 attendees in 18 halls make the K Fair “the world’s no.1 trade fair for plastics and rubber.” This will be the first year that CMT exhibits in a stand-alone booth, thanks to our colleagues at CMT Europe. Their continued growth illustrates the demand for HYTAC products in one of the world’s biggest consumer markets. Not only will we have a fantastic and functional booth, our materials will be on display in multiple booths around Hall 3, including all the major OEMs and toolmakers. The K Fair is truly an international event with processors and converters from every region of the globe. Hall 3 is dedicated to thermoforming technology and we are excited to be smack in the middle of the action. Be sure to visit us at Stand 83 as we have some very special treats to share with our customers and partners…
