Since we introduced HYVAC LCM at the 2015 Thermoforming Conference, we have had a steady flow of interest in the new mold material. The good people over at Plastics Machinery Magazine recently published a concise and informative piece on the new material. As stated in the article, we’re still limiting the number of projects until we optimize the process for making molds.
This week is a short week in the US due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. CMT offices in the US will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. CMT Europe will be open for business.
Speaking of Europe, we will be attending the 2015 AMI Thin Wall Packaging Conference in Cologne, Germany next week. This is always an informative event with papers from Nestle, Sabic and Coveris among others. Topics include sustainable packaging and barrier materials, both of which are relevant to thermoforming companies as package design is now integral to the food supply chain. People around the world are becoming increasingly aware of the important role played by plastics packaging in keeping food fresh and secure over long distances.
